Obstetric patients often pose challenges to anesthesiologists, as lab values and parameters vary from a non-pregnant patient.  Shown here are the characteristic anatomic and physiologic changes in pregnant patients that a provider must consider when interpreting patient data or clinical presentations, especially in an operative setting.
