Contraindications to performing a Kidney Biopsy
Absolute Contraindications:
 • Uncooperative patient
 • Solitary native kidney
 • Uncontrolled severe hypertension
 • Uncontrolled bleeding diathesis
Relative Contraindications:
 • Active pyelonephritis
 • Perinephric abscess
 • Skin infection over the biopsy site
 • Hydronephrosis
 • Multiple cysts
 • Kidney tumor
 • Small hyperechoic kidneys
 • Uncontrolled hypertension
 • Hypotension
