Restrictive Cardiomyopathy - Diagnosis and Causes
Clinical: Dyspnea, Exercise Intolerance, ↑ "Right Sided-Symptoms" (ascites, hepatomegaly, ↑↑peripheral edema)
Physical Exam: ↑JVP, Prominent X and Y Descents, Rales,+S4, MR and TR Murmurs
Imaging: Echocardiography, Cardiac MRI, Cardiac Catheterization
Etiology of Restrictive Cardiomyopathy
• Infiltrative: Amyloidosis (AL Amyloid, Wild Type TTR, Senile TTR), Sarcoidosis, Primary Hyperoxaluria
• Storage: Hemochromatosis, Fabry's Disease, Nieman-Pick Disease, Danon Disease, Gaucher Disease, Other Glycogen Storage Disease, Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I and II
• Endomyocardial: Carcinoid Heart Disease, Cancer-Related (i.e., Radiation, Chemotherapy, Metastases), Endomyocardial Fibrosis, Hyper-eosinophilc Syndrome, Endocardial Fibroelastosis, Idiopathic (i.e., Drug-Related)
• Non-lnfiltrative: Idiopathic, Diabetic Cardiomyopathy, Systemic Sclerosis, Myofibrillar Myopathies, Sarcomeric Protein Disorders (i.e., TNN13, TNNT2, MYH7, MYBPC3), Radiation Carditis
