Bibasilar Atelectasis secondary to massive ascites

Finally, large volumes of intra-abdominal fluid can lead to elevated hemi-diaphragms-->bibasilar collapse. This is often an under-recognized cause of ongoing respiratory failure in the pt with ascites. 4L off by para and the pt dropped O2 requirements: optiflow 60% to room air.
