Ectopic Pregnancy on Transabdominal Pelvic Ultrasound From the QA files. You see this. Patient was discharged. Feedback to operator? Next steps? Sound observations and recommendations! Image is compatible w an interstitial (ie ectopic) pregnancy. As noted this is image is more lateral than standard; we don't see the bladder and cervix. It's a single image; a lack of orthogonal views is a recurring theme in misinterpreted studies: "one view is no view" . A transverse image helps show other landmarks & the eccentric location for the gestational sac, and help trigger pattern recognition that something is amiss. The endomyometrial mantle is abnormally low here, further supporting that is an abnormal location for the pregnancy, - Dr. David Mackenzie @mackendc #Ectopic #Pregnancy #Transabdominal #Pelvic #Ultrasound #clinical #POCUS
