Renal Biopsy - Absolute and Relative Contraindications
WHEN NOT TO DO IT:
 • Isolated glomerular hematuria, unless progressive 
 • Low grade proteinuria unless hematuria or systemic disease
RELATIVE CONTRAINDICATIONS
 • Small <9cm hyperechoic kidneys
 • Solitary native kidney
 • Multiple, bilateral cysts
 • Active infection
 • Hydronephrosis
 • Uncontrollable bleeding diathesis or severe HTN
