Powassan Virus Infection • Prodrome +/- fine erythematous rash → sudden onset fever, neurological deficits • Dx: PCR → IgM → IgG • Tx: Supportive, aggressive rehab • Encephalitis 10% fatality • 50% prolonged rehab for neuro deficits Summertime. 79M w/ malaise, R arm pronator drift & dysarthria -> fever & obtundation.
