Ultrasound Guided Brachial Plexus Nerve Block on POCUS
Mid-shaft humerus fracture, 10/10 pain, 350mcg fentanyl and no change on pain. Enter U/S guided brachial plexus block. Pain 0/10 20 minutes later.
Absolutely must document normal neuro exam! Our practice is no block in this high risk group until us (EM) and ortho document it. All bupivicaine for duration. Remember to document a good neuro exam pre/post block and touch base with your ortho team.
