Maternal vascular malperfusion / MVM / MVU / Preclampsia
 • Additional features: SGA placenta, thin cord (<0.8 cm), increased intervillous fibrin, abruption
Fetal vascular malperfusion / FVM / FTV / Cord accident / Fetal stroke
 • High grade: >45 avascular villi or 2+ thrombi in large vessels or 3+ thrombi in small vessels
Acute inflammatory pathology / AIP / AFI / Clinical chorioamnionitis / Ascending infection
 • Ddx: Meconium (PMN in amnion only), Decidual necrosis (focal, decidua only), Chronic inflamm, Eo/T-cell vasculitis.
Chronic inflammatory pathology / CV / VUE
 • High grade villitis: largest focus >10 villi; otherwise Low grade; diffuse = >30% of villi involved
