Malignant Pericardial Effusion and Tamponade on POCUS Echocardiogram - A4C
CA patient with known pericardial effusion who declined treatment. Last had TTE 3 days and refused treatment. BP stable. Pt was denying CP or SOB. Wanting hospice. Echo clips from ED visit when patient returned 3 days later. Was having severe n/v/d and was very dehydrated. Presented tachycardic and hypotensive with dizziness and dyspnea. Shows importance of preload in these patients. Given IV fluids and antiemetics--declined further treatment.
