Greater Saphenous Vein Thrombosis on POCUS
Pt-leg pain/redness/swelling. Proximal TRV image.
Diagnosis: Greater Saphenous Vein Thrombosis without DVT. Thrombus from SFJ to mid-calf. How would you treat? Patient is hemodynamically stable without CP or SOB (no concern for PE-or for sake of poll can say is neg for PE) and no PMH or prior hx of clots.
GSV thrombus near the SFJ should be treated with anticoagulation, otherwise it may extend into the CFV and cause a DVT.
