Short QT Syndrome
Short QT syndrome (SQTS) is a very rare, recently described syndrome in which an unusually short QT interval (QTc < 360ms) is associated with cardiac arrest and sudden cardiac death.
Mutations in 6 different genes have been described in patients with SQTS
Hypercalcemia is also associated with a short QT interval, though it is not clear if the short QT interval in this circumstance also predisposes to SCD.
