Hepatic Artery Calcifications on POCUS
Elderly male with abd pain/low BP. POCUS Liver TRV shown. Diagnosis?
Linear intrahepatic echogenic regions seen. ?Pneumobilia ?portal venous gas? Pneumobilia tends to have air located more centrally within liver while portal venous gas tends to be located more peripherally. Both have to be considered within differential here but neither is the correct diagnosis. Patient is a vasculopath. The linear intrahepatic echogenic regions are the result of hepatic artery calcifications. Note on the axial CT scan slices the hepatic artery calcifications along with the presence of extensive calcifications in other vessels: https://twitter.com/RJonesSonoEM/st
