Graves Disease - Autoimmune Hyperthyroidism
Epidemiology: Most common cause of hyperthyroidism, Incidence peaks at 30-50
Diagnosis: 
1 ) Primary hyperthyroidism
2) Measure thyrotropin-receptor antibodies
3) If 2 is negative, consider radioiodine uptake study.
Clinical Presentation:
 • Hyperthyroidism: Fatigue, weight loss, tremor, palpitations, Goiter (younger>older), A Fib (older>younger)
 • Autoimmunity: Ophthalmopathy, Dermopathy, Acropachy 
Rx: 
 • BB (beware contraindications)
 • Methimazole/PTU (take time)
 • Radioactive iodine (take time)
 • Thyroidectomy (goiter, or contraindications)
