Urine Microscopy Instructions
1) Spin fresh urine sample (10-15mL) in a centrifuge for 3-5 minutes - Don't forget to balance your samples!
2) Discard supernatant down to the remaining sediment ("pellet"), then resuspend the pellet by tapping/flicking the tube
3) Place one drop on a microscope slide with a cover slip.
Scan the whole slide under lower power (casts may hide along the sides), then zoom in to get a better look.
If findings are hard to see, try using Sternheimer-Malbin stain and a polarizer
