Penetrating Wound Packing Technique
Keep pressure in the wound and pack in similar fashion. .
MATERIALS: gauze, hemostatic agents, celoxmedical, kerlex are all options. 
Please no TAMPONS at this point. There is some research I'm aware of in the works, but no supporting published supporting data.
LOCATIONS: pretty much any penetrating area outside of the chest cavity. Packing the neck, extremities, abdomen (in certain situations) are all appropriate if clinically applicable.
After packing, you can apply pressure dressings, chest seals to secure material, staples, manual pressure or  combatmedical IT clamp are several options available.
