Don't hit the inferior epigastric artery!!! Go 2cm below the umbilicus in the midline or 3 cm superior and medial to the anterior superior iliac spine

Overall coagulation is usually NORMAL in the setting of cirrhosis, despite abnormal tests of coagulation (e.g. Prolonged PT) because there is a BALANCED deficiency of procoagulants and anticoagulants
