Causes of Increased Amylase (Hyperamylasemia)
Increased serum amylase is not always due to pancreatitis. Here are some other causes.
 • Pancreatic: Pancreatitis, Pseudocyst, ERCP / Surgery, Biliary disease, SOD
 • Gl Tract: Intestinal perforation, Obstruction, Gastroenteritis, Ischemia, Appendicitis
 • Cancers: Pancreatic, Ovarian, Lung, Myeloma, Pheochromocytoma
 • OBGYN: Pregnancy, Ectopic, Ovarian cyst, Pelvic infection
 • Salivary: Parotitis, Mumps, Alcohol, Ductal stenosis
 • Others: Renal failure, Anorexia, Acidosis, Drugs, Intracranial, COVID-19, HIV, Macroamylasaemia
