Henoch Schonlein Leg Rash - Palpable Purpura
Purpura: Low Platelets or Vasculitis?
45 years old, seen in our ED with lower leg purpura. Palpable purpura over lower legs and buttocks.
Tip: To differentiate Thrombocytopenia vs Vasculitis purpura β€”> close your eyes and touch the lesions! Palpable = vasculitis
Buttocks highly suggestive of Henoch-Schonlein purpura (IgA), later confirmed by skin biopsy
