Endotracheal Tumor - Argon Plasma Coagulation on Bronchoscopy.

This patient was experiencing significant dyspnea and stridor. This mass was obstructing probably about 80% of her trachea.
Airway surgery can be tricky and scary. I never go far if I’m working in a care team model. But great communication and teamwork produced an excellent result for this patient.
The tumor was first treated with argon plasma coagulation (FiO2 at 21%!) to try and reduce [potentially catastrophic] bleeding. Then the bevel of the rigid bronchoscope was used to essentially slice it off. A fitting analogy because the rigid bronchoscope is basically an airway sword.
