Bell's Palsy
Bell’s Palsy is a damage, acute weakness, or paralysis of the Facial nerve (7th CN), without an identifiable cause.
Bell’s palsy happens when the facial nerve gets damaged. The cause is unknown but its clinically often associated with viral infections such as:
- Herpes simplex virus
- Epstein-Barr virus
- Varicella-Zoster virus
- Or Bacterial: Borrelia Burgdorferi (Lymes disease)
