Interpreting Right Heart Catheterizations

Always interpret a RHC based on the indication for getting the test. This is an interpretation for suspicion of pulmonary hypertension
1. Does the patient have pulmonary hypertension? (PA mean > 20 mmHg_
2. What is the hemodynamic profile? (Pre-capillary, Post-capillary, Combined)
3. What is the cardiac output?
4. How severe is the pulmonary hypertension?
5. What are the filling pressures?
6. Are the readings accurate?
7. Were any maneuvers performed?
