Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis (VKC) with Shield Ulcer - Slit Lamp Examination

This male reported to clinic with decreased vision in the right eye. He stated that he chronically rubbed both eyes due to severe itching that occurred every Spring/Summer. On exam he presented with a central corneal epithelial defect measuring 2mmV by 1mmH with underlying subepithelial haze. No infiltrate was present. On eyelid eversion there were large cobblestone papillae on the palpebral conjunctiva OU.
