Scapular Manipulation Technique for Reduction of Anterior Shoulder Dislocation (Left Shoulder) The scapular manipulation technique focuses on repositioning the glenoid rather than the humeral head, requiring less force than other methods. Patient is prone with the arm downward at 90 degrees of flexion. Gentle traction with supination is applied (slight external rotation of the humerus). The rotate the scapula towards the humeral head- clockwise on the right, counter-clockwise on the left.
