Finkelstein Test for de Quervain's Tenosynovitis

The Finkelstein test is used to assess for de Quervain's tenosynovitis, which is a condition that causes pain and swelling in the thumb and wrist. To perform the Finkelstein test, the examiner grasps the patient's thumb, ulnar deviating the thumb sharply.

If the patient experiences pain in the thumb and wrist, this is indicative of de Quervain's tenosynovitis.
