Myelinated retinal nerve fibers (MRNF) on Fundoscopy Ocular Examination

They are retinal nerve fibers prior to the cribriform plate that, unlike common retinas, have myelin sheaths. In general they are congenital, benign and do not progress. They can be associated with myopia, amblyopia and strabismus.
