Cover - Uncover Test Revealing CNVI Palsy

Here the Cover-Uncover test unmasks subtle right CN VI palsy.
1. Patient asked to focus on examiners finger to maintain rightward gaze.
2. The right eye is covered. And the left eye is observed. Which does not move. (Normal)
3. The right eye is uncovered and observed. Just after the cover is removed. The right eye moves laterally to “re-fixate” on the examiners finger. (Abnormal)
This is suggestive of a subtle right CN VI palsy.
