Transbronchial Biopsy on Fluoroscopy

While advancing a forceps for a transbronchial bx, resistance is felt when you “tent” the visceral pleura (~1 cm). The pleura bounces back into position when the forceps is withdraw.
Thus, the bx should be >1 cm proximal to the point of resistance to minimize the risk of a PTHX
