Stuck Ring Removal Method TECHNIQUE: 1. Gather floss, fishing line, umbilical silk, even IV tubing/TQ. 2. Distally--> wrap circumferential around the swollen digit. This can help displace the edema. And close the diameter. 3. Proximally--> feed one end of the string/floss etc under the stuck jewelry. Can use surgical pickups, safety pins to help grasp the material or feed it under. 4. One the material is tunneled proximally, take that end and start to "unwind" from a proxmal to distal direction. 5. The jewelry will track along the distally compressed portion and the proximal end will guide the jewelry over it as it unravels. This technique can be applied with other synergistic approaches such as lubrication and/or ice/cold water submersion.
