EZ-IO® Device Proximal Humerus Identification and Insertion Technique Insertion: • Prepare the site by using antiseptic solution per institutional protocol using a clean, “no touch” technique. • Remove the needle set cap. • Once the insertion site is determined as described above, insert the needle set tip through the skin approximately 45-degrees anterior to the horizontal plane and aim the needle set downward approximately 45-degrees. Some find it helpful to think of aiming toward the inferolateral border of the scapula.
