Cutaneous signs of Addison's disease may be a useful clue. Hyperpigmentation especially involves sun-exposed areas and flexural regions (palmar creases, knuckles, elbows). Patients often have patchy hyperpigmentation of the oral mucosa. Diagnosis is more challenging in patients with darker skin, but still possible based flexural on oral hyperpigmentation.
