Osborn waves - positive deflections at the J point (negative in aVR and V1) with a dome or hump configuration - are abnormal electrocardiogram finding characteristically seen in hypothermia with a core temperature < 30°C (86°F), but they are not pathognomonic. They may also occur in people with high hypercalcemia, brain injury, medications, or idiopathic ventricular fibrillation and could also be a normal variant.
