HIV Antiretroviral Regimen Components
Dual NRTI Backbone + Third Agent

The general HIV antiretroviral medication regimen includes 3 components: 2 NRTI's and a third agent which can be either an INSTI, Boosted PI, or NNRTI. Though taking 3 medications may seem overwhelming, there have been a lot of advancements in this field to the point that there are now 10 single-tablet regimens (newest NNRTI-based Delstrigo is not pictured). Each product is just 1 tablet by mouth once daily, and includes the dual NRTI backbone plus a third agent. Adherence and not missing doses is one of the most important things in maintaining an undetectable viral load.
