Here's the full list of available atypical antipsychotics available in Long-Acting Injectable formulations. These atypical antipsychotics, otherwise known as second-generation antipsychotics, are used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Adherence to daily medications can be tough for any patient, but having uncontrolled schizophrenia can make adherence even harder, which is why these LAI's can be so helpful for some patients. Risperdal Consta is the shortest lasting which requires dosing every 2 weeks, compared to Invega Trinza which only requires dosing every 3 months (that's only 4 injections per year!). Pharmacists are able to administer these injections to patients, too!
