Sexually Transmitted Infections - Common Outpatient Treatments 
Chlamydia 
 - Azithromycin 1 g PO once 
 - Doxycycline 100 mg PO bid x 7 days
Gonorrhea 
 - Ceftriaxone 250 mg 1M PLUS Azithromycin 1 g PO once 
Trichomoniasis 
 - Metronidazole 2 g PO once 
 - Tinidazole 2 g PO once 

When people think of ambulatory care pharmacy, chronic diseases are the first that come to mind. However when working in amb care, especially in family medicine or primary care, we see a lot of different conditions including acute ones that are not severe enough to be treated in the hospital. Here's the first-line treatments for 3 common STI's. There are recommendations for other agents if there is suspected resistance or allergies, but here I highlight just the first-line regimens for each.
