 - Normal - No CSF effacement 
 - Mild - Partial CSF effacement (ventral, dorsal, or both) 
 - Moderate - Complete CSF effacement +/- slight cord indentation 
 - Severe - Complete CSF effacement & frank cord compression 
Cervical Neural Foraminal Stenosis Grading 
 - Normal - No foraminal effacement 
 - Mild - <50% foraminal effacement at the nerve level* * 
 - Moderate - >50% foraminal effacement at the nerve level* * 
 - Severe - Complete foraminal effacement
