LUMBAR Syndrome

What do you call a segmental lumbosacral hemangioma + spinal problems?? LUMBAR syndrome, a fairly new vascular anomaly syndrome. Important to be on the lookout to find other associated abnormalities & ensure correct management. 

Lower body hemangioma & other cutaneous defects 
Urogenital anomalies & Ulceration 
Myelopathy 
Bony deformities 
Anorectal malformation & Arterial anomalies 
Renal anomalies 

• Consider when you see segmental lumbosacral hemangioma + 1 other finding although exact criteria not specified to date 
• Thought to be lower body equivalent to PHACE syndrome 
• Arteriopathy is possible pathogenesis 
• MRI spine + MRI/MRA abd/pelvis typically recommended
