Tamponade is paradoxical RV collapse during diastole. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if that’s happening by glancing at the B-mode image. M-mode can better obviate the cardiac cycle (in lieu of ECG tracing) proving diastolic RV collapse. Dr. J.
