Median Nerve Injury and Anhidrosis
Note dry skin that precisely matches a median nerve distribution (spares ulnar innervated pinky…)
A prior gunshot wound to the wrist caused a complete median nerve injury. Loss of sympathetics mean no sweating.
You can see the entry and exit wounds on volar wrist. Interestingly the median nerve injury was isolated, without damage to ulnar nerve or any tendons.
The patient was treated by nerve reconstruction, using an autologous sural nerve cable graft.
