Positive Varus Stress Test in LCL Injury

Interesting knee injury in a young basketball player who landed awkwardly coming down from the rebound. An MRI confirmed a complete rupture of the lateral collateral ligament (LCL), which is part of the complex posterolateral corner (PLC) of the knee. Because we saw him within two weeks of his injury, we are able to perform a primary repair of the ligament (rather than a reconstruction). Here, we show his exam under anaesthesia as well as the intra-operative finding of the complete rupture and our final repair.
