Asymmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex (ATNR) This primitive reflex found in newborn babies that normally vanishes around 4 months of age. Also known as the "fencing reflex" because the position of the infant's arms and head, resembles that of a classically trained fencer. When the face is turned to one side, the leg and arm on the same side extend and the arm and leg on the opposite side flex. via @tudodaneuro #Fencing #ATNR #Asymmetrical #Tonic #Neck #Reflex #PhysicalExam #clinical #video #Neurology #Peds #Pediatrics #Normal #Primitive
