Choreiform Gait Demonstration

Associated with various pathologies of the nervous system, the most common being Sydenham's Chorea and Huntington's Chorea. During walking the body oscillates either to the right or to the left, forwards or backwards. The steps are irregular and disordered, simulating imminent fall and forcing the patient to stop to balance himself. The two stiff and spastic lower limbs remain semi-flexed, the feet drag, and the legs cross in front of each other when the patient tries to walk. The movement of the legs resembles scissors.
