Brissaud's Sign
Brissaud's Sign, a substitute for Babinski's sign, was published only 22 days after Babinski's famous lecture. It consists of a cutaneous plantar stimulus with a response characterized by contraction of the lateral portion of the quadriceps muscle and represents a proximal component of the flexion reflex synergy due to pyramidal tract dysfunction.
