COVID-19 Patient Intubation Checklist and Supplies Intubation Equipment List • Appropriately sized tracheal tube with subglottic suction • Airtraq and screen or I-view videolaryngoscope • Direct laryngoscope • Bougie • Stylet Breathing Circuit: • Inline suction system • Tracheal tube clamp • Mainstream capnograph • HME filters at both patient and machine ends of circuit • DO NOT USE side-stream gas analyser • DO NOT USE High Flow Nasal Oxygenation • If intubating with access to an anaesthetic machine and breathing circuit DO NOT use a Waters Circuit • If intubating without access to an anaesthetic machine and breathing circuit a Waters Circuit with HME filter will be necessary Drugs: • Induction drugs for RSI • Emergency drugs e.g. vasopressors • Maintenance drugs and equipment e.g. TIVA and punps Rescue Devices: • Altemative suprglottic airways in a range of sizes • Prepare an Aintree Intubating Catheter. an Ambuscope and a monitor in the clean room, but do not take it in to the hot room • Marker pen • Emergency front of neck airway kit (scalpel, bougie, tube) Dr. Imran Ahmad @dr_imranahmad #COVID19 #Intubation #Checklist #Supplies #CriticalCare #SARSCoV2 #Coronavirus
