Type 2 Odontoid / Dens Fracture 

There are 3 types of C2/Odontoid Dens fractures. The CT above is a type 2 odontoid fracture which has a high risk of nonunion (15-30%) due to blood supply interruption. It is considered an unstable fracture requiring spinal surgery consult.
