Psoriatic Arthritis: Complications

 • Ocular - Inflammation of middle layer of the eye (the uvea, which includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid layer) -> Uveitis - anterior (iritis), occasionally posterior
 • Cardiac - Valvular disease - Inflammatory cytokines and unregulated WBCs activity -> inflammation of heart valves (aortic and, rarely, mitral) -> Fibrosis/scarring over time can decrease heart valve function -> Aortic valve insufficiency
