Asteroid hyalosis in the anterior vitreous cavity on slit lamp exam

These are refractive, calcific particles suspended in the vitreous (the jelly in your eye that keeps it inflated), and RARELY affect vision. These particles are quite beautiful to see, but on occasion can be very disturbing to the examining eyecare provider because of all the reflection they cause!
