Myocardial infarction localization. A 12 lead EKG creates a 360 degree view of the electrical activity of the heart. Contiguous leads view the heart from the same perspective: II, III & aVL view the inferior heart (inferior leads), I & aVL view the lateral left heart (lateral leads), and as you can see aVR has no contiguous lead (aVR stands alone).
